WIRA holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Economics from the University of Oklahoma, USA, which provided him with a strong foundation in both business principles and economic theory. Early in his career, in 2000, he spearheaded a significant initiative that brought together Malaysian and Japanese engineers to collaborate on the development of over 100 automotive components. This project utilized advanced reverse engineering technologies, aiming to support a localization program that would enhance the domestic automotive industry by reducing dependency on foreign imports and fostering local expertise.

His career trajectory continued on an impressive path when, in 2008, he implemented a comprehensive logistics support program for the Sukhoi Su-30MKM aircraft, a project that received approval from the Malaysian Government. This program was critical for the operational readiness and maintenance of the aircraft and included the provision of spare parts, necessary repairs, and an extensive training regime for local specialists. By focusing on developing local capabilities, he ensured that the Malaysian aviation sector could independently manage the upkeep and technical requirements of the Sukhoi Su-30MKM aircraft, significantly boosting the country's defense infrastructure.
